| WHEN Wednesday October 29th, 2008 starting at 7 pm | WHERE El Rey Theatre in Albuquerque, NM | DETAILS THE BASTARD SONS OF JOHNNY CASH will be bringing their full-throttle brand of outlaw country to the Historic El Rey Theater on October 30th, as part of their latest tour.
For singer and primary song writer Mark Stuart and THE BASTARD SONS OF JOHNNY CASH, it’s been a long road Mark Stuart formed the band on a whim. He had been in a punk rock band that was finished, and it had nearly driven him away from music completely. He had a dream one night, and out of the dream came a band name: BASTARD SONS OF JOHNNY CASH. Although the name started as a joke, the band manifested in 1995. Not long after that, the band was touring with country legends, such as Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel and Dale Watson, to name a few. Even Johnny Cash himself gave them his personal seal of approval.
THE BASTARD SONS OF JOHNNY CASH’S latest release Mile Markers is described as what the name suggests: a set of signs posted to guide the way home, or point out the direction away from home. For Stuart, Mile Markers serves as a spiritual voyage, a travelogue, a set of songs that turns into a single tale of journeying forth. Over the course of the album, Mark Stuart pays his tribute to the giants who have gone before by writing the finest, fiercest songs he can, keeping in mind that the future is looming up just ahead on the horizon. With the release of this album, THE BASTARD SONS OF JOHNNY CASH have reached new heights.
Tickets will be $10 at the door the night of the show.
