OSCILLATION II
Albuquerque's Electronic Music Festival
FRIDAY OCTOBER 18th + SATURDAY OCTOBER 19th
@ AMETHYST LUNA
412 Central SE (in between Edith + Broadway)
Doors @ 6.30pm (both nights)
$6 for one night, $10 for both!
ALL AGES!
This two day event features a dozen of New Mexican electronic acts, mostly within the industrial, dark ambient and IDM vein. I cannot express enough how wonderful this fest is going to be- there is truly going to be something for everyone. Live music, DJs and visual art over two nights.
The performers (in alphabetical order/ date)
Friday Oct 18th:
ALCHEMICAL BURN
One of Burque's longest running dark ambient/ experimental acts. To see Alchemical Burn live is to witness the dissolution and recombination of aural ecstasy. Do not miss this guy!
BLACKLIGHT ZEBRAS
A relatively new staple in the local electronic scene, the Zebras combine hard EBM with layers of chanting, intonation and unconventional dance structures.
SANS PALMA
A very cool fusion of trance and IDM- dancey, experimental and melodic all at once.
SIDANIK
The new project from the gent who brought us "Choking on Roses" and "Transparent"- deep, desolate and innovative dark ambient.
TERRORSTATE
Another Burque mainstay and (inter)national performance artist. Terrorstate covers everything from harsh, rhythmic noise to tantalizingly political dark ambient. One of my personal favourites!
VOLKENANT
While not much is known about Volkenant, word on the street has it that we'll be in store for some serious dark ambient/ glitchy IDM!
Saturday Oct 19th:
BRIAN BOTKILLER
The solo project of Brian from Distorted Frequency. Smooth ambient with deep drum'n bass, hard breaks and hard beat propaganda.
CONSUME OBEY BREED
Deep dark and improvisational soundscapes riddle the live PA that is COB. Past collaberations with Efesar and many other local Burque artists have seasoned this experimental project.
DISTORTED FREQUENCY
Santa Fe's answer to modern electronica- these guys have played to stunned crowds with their aural assault of breakbeats, heavy synth lines and overwhelming loops. Wonderful!
INEREX
The glitch beat master, (inter)national performance artist Inerex packs an exeptionally cool live performance that you won't want to miss. Unconventional forms of electronica meet pure sonic mayhem when this guys takes the stage!
JEFF GBUREK
Not very much is known about Gburek's creative process- expect lots of middle eastern style percussion (ala Muslimgauze) combined with found sounds, multi-instrumentation and sonic assault!
RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
Dirty EBM meets unadultured emotion with lots of steel percussion. Hot off their opening set with Imperative Reaction, RAM are prepared to take over the Burque electronic scene with dancey beats, emotive vocals and a live show that will keep you moving. A subtle, fresh
and industrial (!) approach to synthpop!
+ DJs BOGGS and PVCK (2 of Euphoria's mainstays- prepare for an assualt of industrial, breaks and trance from two of Burque's finest!)
Other DJs may include Mello and DJ Illkid for drum and bass, jungle and funk.
