| I like the lists... and although it's atomic family extensions were listed, "Techno" is both a general and specific style. I also feel that "Scratch D.J." deserves a spot somewhere seeing as how it is more than matching beats. The medium used by the Scratch D.J. is usually not complete songs. They are samples and loops mind-boggling mixed in real time to create a unique sound/song. I submit exhibit A: Mix Master Mike. |

it's in there. it's called turntablism. I know that word tripped me up the first time i heard it, but even mix master mike uses it to describe the art.
i'm not sure techno is a genre though. i think it goes under digital/electronic. as far as i'm concerned techno is just a style -- kinda like all the other styles.
just think of "sesame's treat" and "james brown is dead." that's techno. oh by the way, techno is dead. it became rave. which toned down into house. which morphed into trance.
and then every kid on the planet got fruity loops.
and now it's schizophrenia in a bottle.
